Without “the Consent of the Governed”

HEALTH CARE TAKEOVER STILL LOOMS

TIME TO TAKE ACTION

Note: It doesn’t matter that 60-70% (depending on the poll) of the American people do not want this bill, nor any contorted version of it.  They know it’s not about health care reform.  It’s about power and our government wielding it over us all in yet another critical area of our lives.   So, through a process called “reconciliation,” the left can force this bill upon us all with no participation in the process by conservatives or the American people.    The “Summit” is an illusion, a ruse, a thinly-veiled attempt to make it appear to be an honest effort towart bipartisanship.   But make no mistake about it: This is a power-play.  And once passed, we WILL all answer to some government official or panel to determine what any of us can or cannot do medically.

This week there is forward momentum again in the health care debate. President Obama rolled out his own version of a health care plan. It is reported that if the Republicans filibuster, the Democrats will push the bill via reconciliation through anyway. On Thursday, the President will meet with the leadership of both parties to “discuss” health care.

So, that means, it is up to us, We the People, to make sure Congress knows we do not want the government to take over our health care. Call your Congressman and Senators and tell them to vote no on Health Care. Also tell Senator McConnell not to compromise in the meeting with the President on Thursday. The American people do not want any part of this Health Care bill, do not compromise.

Monthly TEA Party Social March 4th

February 22nd, 2010 Dan No comments

Please join your Louisville TEA Party on Thursday,  March 4th from 6pm to 8pm.   Because February’s event was so well-attended that it became a tad unwieldy, we’re moving the venue to the Food Court at Oxmoor Mall.  It’s spacious.  Lots of tables and seating.  And a plethora of food and beverage choices.

So, if you love liberty, want the insane spending in Washington to stop, believe in smaller, less intrusive government and you want a forum to stand up, speak out and get involved, well…you’ve come the right place.  See you there.   Board member Rachel Ford will be there to sign you in and help you get acquainted and connected.

Come out.  Vent.  Brainstorm.  Be energized.  And enjoy.

Under a Mountain of Debt? Try A(nother) Spending Spree!

February 1st, 2010 Dan No comments

Last week, during the State of the Union speech, our President squandered a golden opportunity, one that could have been a defining moment in this, the second full year of his presidency.   He could have used it as the perfectly timed occasion to say:  ”I have heard the collective voice of Americans all across the country who are saying, ‘We oppose enormous bail outs to banks and the car companies.’  I have heard the anger of those who say, ‘We oppose an $800 billion stimulus that has created very few jobs  while during the same year 3.4 million people lost their jobs.’    I have heard loud and clear the angst of a nation who believes that our approach in the past year to spend our way out of debt is absolutely unsustainable.   I have heard the will of the people expressed at the polls, in places like New York, New Jersey, Virginia and Massachusetts, that says, ‘We want no part of a government takeover of our health care, under the guise of reform.’ And I have heard the pathos of a people who are groaning under the weight of excessive taxation, intrusion into their lives and steady erosion of their liberties.   And so, I stand before you on this night, prepared to plot a fresh, new, common-sense course for our Country.”

Yes, our President could have and should have taken advantage of his national stage this way–but alas, he did not. Sadly, we heard no such words.  Not only does our current administration not have its hand on the pulse of where Main Street USA lives and breathes, it seems not to care.  It’s not that they do not know what Americans are going through as unemployment continues to rise–and foreclosures with it–and are just acting as though they are blind to these cold, harsh realities.  It’s that they do see and they do know and are acting against the will of the people anyway.

What we got last Wednesday night was a lecture, a scolding as it were, and no one was left out (just ask your Supreme Court justices).   The President’s words, seemingly underscoring his resilience–”I’m no quitter,” in reality only served to emphasize a level of defiance of the will of the People that is unprecedented.   Translation: “We’re going to find a way, some way, any way to get our agenda pushed through, no matter what–and no matter how many object to it.”   If you doubt that, Speaker Nancy Pelosi’s commentary the very next day:  ”If the gates are closed, we’ll go over the fence.  If the fence is too high, we’ll pole vault in.   If that doesn’t work, we’ll parachute in, but we’re going to get health care reform passed.”  Make no mistake, whatever the People say and however they may protest, their government says:  ”We know better what’s better for them than they do.”

The message out of Washington isn’t anything resembling, “You know, we may have spent way too much after all.”  It’s, “We haven’t spent nearly enough.”   And so, there is more to come.  Much more.  Including the most bloated budget proposal in our nation’s history.  This fiscal insanity is a runaway train, and liberal “leadership” is its engineer.

As the American Conservative Union reported today:

“Today’s Wall Street Journal screams with the headline, ‘Deficit to Hit All-Time High,’ as they report that President Obama’s budget projects the deficit will shoot up to a record $1.6 trillion this year.”  The Associated Press says: ‘Obama unveils $3.83 trillion budget with massive deficits.’

Worse, Obama and the liberal Democrats controlling Capitol Hill now say they want even more stimulus spending, what you probably heard talked about in that State of the Union speech as a “jobs bill.”

Massive government spending does not create jobs, it merely puts America’s families, children and grandchildren in even more debt.  Massive government spending does nothing to help America’s small businesses on main street.  Massive government spending does nothing but give liberal Democrats another blank check to hand out goodies to their liberal special interest friends.

The spending must stop. The stimulus bills cloaked as jobs bills must stop.  We must speak out.”

And so, we are.  And we will.

STOP CAP AND TRADE AND CLIMATE TREATY
This week please call all your senators and house reps. about the cap and trade bill that seems to be heating up again in the congress and the possibility of Pres. Obama signing a Global Climate Treaty that would give up the USA’s sovereignty to a higher UN Constitution. This is SCARY folks! This could mean the end of the constitution as we know it and the signing could be as early as December. This could usher in a New World Government that would then supersede our own laws and documents. Please call all your congressman and ask about this treaty and begin doing your homework. Here is a video about the Climate Treaty in Copenhagen. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LYZkph2DfSg   Here is a BBC report on the Climate Summit in Copenhagen. http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/8315573.stm

I’ve started reading the Federalist Papers, and would like to leave you all with a quote that moved me about the men who created our country and founding documents. “This convention, composed of men, who possesed the confidence of the people, and many of whom had become highly distinguished by their patriotism, virtue and wisdom, in times which tried the minds and hearts of men, undertook the arduous task. In the mild season of peace, with minds unoccupied by other subjects, they passed many months in cool uninterrupted and daily consultations: and finally, without having been awed by power, or influenced by any passions except love for their Country, they presented and recommended to the people the plan produced by their joint and very unanimous counsels.”

Not Evil Just Wrong
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Fall is upon us and in some parts of the country they have received their first snow fall of the year, which begs to ask the question, “What happened with Global Warming?” Most already know about former Vice President Al Gore’s movie “An Inconvenient Truth” and how it explored the issue of global warming. Most also know that Mr. Gore and his notables in the movie tried to use flawed science to get the point across.
Tea Party Patriots is proud to announce their welcomed promotion of the film “Not Evil Just Wrong”. Ann McElhinney and Phelem McAleer, two Irish environmental journalists have a made a film that not only explores the “junk science’ behind this debate but shows the real human toll extreme environmentalism has on society.  If you do nothing else on the issue of Cap and Trade or Global Warming please see this film. It portrays real problems facing the world today and magnificently probes how some of these issues were actually created by extreme environmentalists own actions.
Go to the website, http://www.noteviljustwrong.com/, and sign up to have a local premier of the movie on October 18, 2009 at 8:00 pm EST. The producers are hoping to set the world record for most premiers of a single movie in one evening. It will be fun, educational and a real way to highlight the topic for all.
HOLD JOHN YARMUTH ACCOUNTABLE THIS TUESDAY JULY 28TH
July 24th, 2009 Wendy 1 comment
12pm – 1pm in front of his office at 600 Martin Luther King, Jr. Place in Downtown Louisville. The house has vowed to vote on the Health care Bill next week due to White House pushing the issue. The time to act and voice our opinion is now! We need to put the pressure on Rep. Yarmuth before he votes on it. Let’s get hundreds in front of his office to show how we feel. When our Secretary Evalynn Mills called this morning they said Mr. Yarmuth had no plans to meet with his constituents about this massive health care bill that has no plan for the long term in terms of payment for the services or how this will affect privatized medicine. We need to show up on his doorstep and point him out as a chicken who won;t face up to the people he represents. Please join me and show up on Tuesday July 28th from 12 – 1 with your signs and rubber chickens and make his staff very uncomfortable (in a peaceful way that is). The only thing is we must keep moving on the sidewalk and not block traffic. I hope to see alot of you there. If you can’t make it please call his office and bombard the phones from 12 -1. The number is 582-5129.
Impromptu Rally at 6th and Jefferson to protest the passage of the Cap and Tax bill by House Democrats
June 26th, 2009 admin 2 comments
From the Tea Party Patriots national leadership …
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Tea Party Patriots Action Alert

HELP…WE NEED YOUR INPUT IMMEDIATELY
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Dear Tea Party Patriots,
Today you were scammed by the House of Representatives, and despite the fact that you shut down the phones of virtually every Representative in the nation, they ignored you and voted for another bill which they haven’t even read.
HR 2454 The American Clean Energy & Security Act (Previously named CAP & TRADE)
passed, with the assistance of eight Republican votes. The House added 300 pages today, none of them have read it, and they still voted for it. How much abuse will we take from politicians that don’t care about us any longer?
So, the question is, what are you willing to do about it? We have watched in awe as Iranians have taken to the streets of their nation to protest a corrupt and abusive government. Do we have what it takes to stand up to our own government and tell them that we won’t take it anymore? Do we have the genes passed to us by our forefathers, who risked their lives to preserve their freedom?
What do you want to do? Many are suggesting that we take to the streets now…immediately, around the country…at every Federal courthouse, in every city. Are you willing? Are you ready? Is it time to say NO MORE????!!!!!
Please let us know ASAP what you want to do. Do you want to take to the streets right now? It’s Friday night across the country, and a good time to hit the streets if you want to express yourselves. Do we want to do it tomorrow? Many Patriots are angry and demanding immediate action.
This is a true grass roots movement and we aren’t going without you. Is it time to light a grass fire and hit the streets tonight or tomorrow?
Thanks,
Mark Meckler, Amy Kremer and Jenny Beth Martin
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

In response to this horrendous bill, the Louisville Grassroots Tea Party is calling on all local Tea Party Patriots to show their “Representatives” in Congress exactly how they feel about this. 6th and Jefferson at 10am. Be there and show that you care!
